The Magnaprobe? magnetic field indicator is a small bar magnet fully suspended in a gimbal mounting and is designed to show the three dimensional nature of a magnetic field. The Mark I model is more sensitive than the Mark II and has been individually balanced to show the dip in the Earth’s magnetic field.
