Peltier Cell Unit

A Peltier cell consists of a number of junctions made from semiconducting materials sandwiched between two ceramic plates. When an electrical current passes through it, one side gets hotter and the other side gets colder creating a temperature difference. Effectively, it is a ¡®heat pump¡¯, and is the kind of device that is used in portable cool boxes. This unit this enables the Peltier cell to be used simply in experiments, by holding it between two metal plates that act as heat sinks.
